Students provide our senior staff with creative recommendations for business improvements. I maximized the resources at Dean to get immersed academically and through internships. Since graduating, I have worked for two Fortune 200 companies, earned my master's degree, supported the launch of a start-up and now work full-time in product management. Dean set me up for long term success and I’ve seen the payback upon graduating.
As a dual athlete, many of my coaches have pushed me to try different things and helped me find jobs in sports and athletics, including my internship with the assistant athletic director on campus. I have a lot of opportunities to pursue my goal of working in finance for professional sports.
My favorite thing about being a Business major is that all of our faculty do a great job at putting what we learn into real-life context. We’ve seen real spreadsheets from different companies and businesses that really put things into context and showed what the classes would be like in a real-life setting.
I completed my internship with Fidelity Investments, where I was able to take my knowledge from Dean and apply it to my day-to-day work. Being on the lacrosse team also taught me about communication, teamwork and how to be a leader, which I applied every day at Fidelity. My internship taught me so much, from meetings to networking, that I will carry with me into the future.
