Congratulations on your acceptance to Dean!
Experience Dean
The college selection process typically ends with an emotional exercise where you look around (as either a student and a family member) and ask yourself:
• Do I believe I’ll fit in?
• Do I believe I’ll feel welcomed and supported here?
• Do I believe this school will allow me to thrive in pursuit of my academic, personal, and professional goals?
And it is that very word – believe – that you will find as an underlying theme at Dean College. It has been said that the greatest gift you can give someone is to believe in them. Above all, that’s what defines Dean as an institution, and it’s what makes up the core of what we refer to as The Dean Difference.
The Dean Difference is not just a singular faculty member, or academic counselor, or coach, club or team; but rather an entire community that comes together to instill a confidence and belief in our students to never give up, never settle, and never lose sight of your dreams.
Our Accepted Student Experience is designed to bring our campus and culture to you – however near or far you may be. We encourage you to pick-and-choose the pieces from our virtual showcase that most interest you, all in the hopes of ultimately providing a glimpse of how at Dean, we believe… in YOU.

WHAT IS HOUSING LIKE? CAN I PICK MY ROOMMATE?
Visit the the Residence Life page to check out housing options. Most freshmen will live in Dean, Ewen, Wallace or Jones Hall. These are traditional-style residence halls with mostly double rooms and a few singles, triples, and quads.
If you would like to request a specific person to be your roommate you will have the opportunity to do so after you submit your housing application. Both roommates need to select each other to be placed together. However, roommate requests are not required.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME? CAN I HAVE THINGS SHIPPED TO SCHOOL AHEAD OF TIME?
At New Student Orientation, we will provide you with an extensive list of what to bring. In the meantime, feel free to visit our Living on Campus page for a general list.
We are excited to welcome you to campus this Fall. Our partnership with StorageSquad.com will store and deliver your new student’s items in their first-year housing assignment this Fall. This is a very easy way to make move-in less stressful for you and your family. They offer affordable prices for the entire summer. Reserving your space is simple: go to Dean College Ship to School Service - Storage Squad .

The Smith Dining Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. The dining center is very accommodating if you have food allergies or sensitivities. WHAT IS IT LIKE ON THE WEEKENDS? IS THERE ENOUGH TO DO?
90% of students live on campus and we ensure that there are lots of things to do throughout the week, and especially on the weekend! Hundreds of fun options are offered throughout the year. Our student organizations sponsor programs such as Open Mic Night, BINGO, magicians, comedian, movies and much more. Show your Bulldog spirit by attending athletic teams’ competitions and watch dance and theatre students perform on stage. Boomer’s Game Room is open every day and offers free pool tables, as well as community use of gaming stations (Nintendo Switch and PlayStation). Interested in friendly competition? Join an intramural team such as dodgeball, basketball, futsal, spike ball and more!
CAN STUDENTS HAVE A CAR?
Freshmen resident students are not permitted to have a car on campus. Beginning sophomore year, students can apply for a parking permit. Permits are granted on a space available basis.
