Changes to the FAFSA have significantly delayed financial aid awarding for all college students this year. To assist you during this interim waiting period, we would like to provide you with an opportunity to receive an estimated award from Dean in just a couple of easy steps.
As part of this process, you will need to provide us with your estimated Student Aid Index (SAI). Please utilize the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority’s (MEFA) Estimated SAI Calculator outlined in Step 1 below.
Once you have your Student Aid Index (SAI), please complete the request form outlined in Step 2 below.

Step 1: Calculate your estimated SAI
As part of this process, you will need to provide an estimated Student Aid Index (SAI) and will be directed to the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority’s (MEFA) SAI Calculator, which can be completed in under five minutes. *** Please note that if you have previously submitted the FAFSA and received an SAI, this figure did not take into consideration inflation and is in the process of being re-calculated by the Department of Education – this is the reason why we are directing families to the MEFA estimator.***
Step 2: Request Your Estimated Award
Please complete the Dean College Estimated Financial Aid Award Request Form using your estimated SAI to receive an estimated financial aid award from Dean.
Step 3: Estimated Financial Aid Award Timeline
Within 3 to 5 business days after completing steps 1 and 2, we will email the student an 2024-2025 Estimated Financial Aid and Tuition Summary. We encourage students to review this with their family. Please note: the estimated award will only be sent electronically.
Please note: Dean College is offering this process in a good faith effort to provide families with an estimate of what their net price would be to attend Dean for the full 2024-2025 academic year.
The forthcoming financial aid award is an estimate only, based on the family's self-reported Student Aid Index (SAI), and is subject to change. A final award will be determined by Dean's Financial Aid Office once official data is received from the Department of Education.
