Celebrating the Season with Fall Semester Traditions
As the semester starts winding down, the fun is just getting started! Every year, we have a number of traditions to celebrate the end of the semester. In between finishing projects and studying for finals, make sure you take some time to partake in some of our favorite Dean College traditions. Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks:
Thanksgiving Dinner: What’s better than Thanksgiving dinner? Two! One week before the holiday, the Dean dining services team prepares a Thanksgiving dinner for us to enjoy on campus before we all head home for Thanksgiving break. Enjoy all your favorite dishes, including turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, served by our faculty and staff volunteers! This year’s Thanksgiving Dinner is on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Annual Tree Lighting: Every year Dean welcomes the Franklin community to witness the annual tree lighting on Awpie Way. This event includes holiday entertainment and performances by Dean students, hot chocolate to enjoy and keep you warm, and plenty of holiday spirit. This year’s lighting will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
Winter Day: Celebrate the last day of classes with fun, winter-themed activities during our annual Winter Day! Student Activities transforms the Rooney Student Center into a winter wonderland. This year’s Winter Day will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022.
Late Night Breakfast: Take a break from studying and fuel up for finals with our annual Late Night Breakfast. The dining team, faculty and staff serve breakfast to our hungry students, and students take a well-deserved break from their books! Late Night Breakfast will be Monday, December 12, 2022.
