Dean’s Annual Global Giving Day Happening February 19, 2025

Launched initially on Founders’ Day for Dean College’s 150th anniversary in 2015, Global Giving Day has since become an annual event. This year’s online and on-campus celebration, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, will bring together Dean alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends from around the world to show their support. 

Since 2015, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised, and over 50 funds have been supported through the Global Giving Day campaigns. As in years past, an anonymous donor will match all donations made during this year’s Global Giving Day dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000. Additional matches and challenges will also be announced throughout the day.

The 24-hour fundraising drive will begin at 12:01 a.m. and end at 11:59 p.m. on February 19. However, early giving is available now. The key initiatives on which we are focused this year, include:

The Dean Fund - When you make a gift to the Dean Fund, your contribution goes towards the area of greatest need within the College. Whether that is new technology, lab equipment, or additional academic resources, know that 100% of your generous contribution is hard at work for our dedicated students.

Bulldog Beginnings - Our alumni can tell you—the friends you make at Dean College are friends forever. By donating to the Bulldog Beginnings campaign, you will help us build more events and programs to welcome our newest students. From nationally acclaimed programs such as Playfair to the iconic first-year photo in branded Bulldog apparel to the welcome-back cookout (that has become a highly anticipated tradition!), your gift will support student life and culture on campus for the newbies and the old hands alike.

First Generation Scholarship - We pride ourselves on welcoming students from every background to the Dean community. But there is a special place in our hearts for those who are the first generation in their families to attend college—knowing that their arrival on campus was likely preceded by much hard work and sacrifice. Help us reward that perseverance by contributing to a scholarship specifically for first-generation students.

Study Away Program - We believe in providing our students with the widest range of opportunities to experience and learn. By participating in our Study Away program, students learn to become global citizens and get to experience other cultures firsthand. Your support for this initiative will assist students who need financial help to cover airfare, passport fees, or other incidental costs of international travel.

Battle of the Bulldogs – In this campaign, our 16 athletics teams compete to get the most donors for their team. The winning team will get an additional $1,000, and the second place will earn and additional $500 to support their student-athletes.

Anyone may make a tax-deductible donation, beginning now, by visiting the Global Giving Day online portal. If you visit the Dean Student Center on February 19 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and make a donation of $15 or more, you will receive our special Global Giving Day t-shirt.
