A family on and off the field: That’s how the women’s soccer team feels about Dean and about each other. As their season kicks into high gear, we caught up with midfielder Janey Boldrighini ’23, a Business Management major, midfielder Jenn Jacovino ’22, an Early Childhood Education major and Psychology minor, and striker Miranda Seacord ’22, a Sport Management major, to learn more about their experiences on the team and what they’re most excited for this season.

Q: What is your favorite thing about being on the women’s soccer team?

Janey: That we are always there for each other.

Jenn: How much fun we have on and off the field together. We are all truly a big family no matter what.

Miranda: That no matter what grade level you are, everyone respects each other, and everyone is always there for each other on and off the field.

Q: How has being a student-athlete shaped your Dean experience?

Janey: Being a student-athlete has shaped my Dean experience by giving me an outlet to make new friends and connections, as well as providing me with the life skills that I will need when I graduate.

Jenn: Being a student-athlete at Dean has shaped my overall Dean experience in many ways. I feel like I am a part of a whole other family on campus. The faculty and staff truly care about your education and will work with you around your schedule to help you succeed – not only academically, but also athletically.

Miranda: My experience as a student-athlete has shaped my Dean experience because when you are on a team at Dean, you instantly gain 20 new friends right off the bat. It makes the school year a lot more fun knowing you have those people by your side.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Dean?

Janey: My favorite thing about Dean is how easy it is to get involved on campus.

Jenn: The family-like community and the support system that comes along with the Dean community.

Miranda: How close-knit the community is.

Q: What are you most excited about this season?

Janey: I’m very excited to grow as a team this upcoming season!

Jenn: I am excited to participate in the GNAC and have one last season with my team.

Miranda: I am most excited about working hard with my teammates and trying to make a playoff run.
