Dean College Supports White Ribbon Campaign
Dean College Men's Basketball recorded a resounding 120-73 win over Lesley University on Wednesday, February 19. The win for the Bulldogs keep them in the hunt for a home New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Quarterfinal game next Tuesday, February 25.
The game fell on Senior Night, Dean's Founder's Day and the White Ribbon Campaign, the world's largest movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.
Since its inception in Toronto in 1991, the White Ribbon Campaign has spread to over 60 countries around the world. White Ribbon asks men to wear white ribbons as a sign of their pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls.
Supporters at the game, including faculty, staff and athletic coaches and players, proudly wore t-shirts that read: "I promise to be part of the solution."
In addition, a halftime presentation educated the crowd about the movement. Those in attendance pledged: "From this day forward, I promise to be part of the solution in ending violence against women and all gender-based violence."
