Where can commuters park?
Commuters can park in the Dean Hall Lot (enter from Emmons St.) or in the Jones Lot (adjacent to Grant Field — enter from Emmons St. or School St.). There are signs at the entrance of both parking lots.
Do I need a parking pass?
Yes, you can acquire a parking pass at the Department of Campus Safety (Dean Hall) for a fee of $200. The pass will be valid for one academic year (September–May). The parking decal must be adhered to the driver’s rear side window. Commuters driving must purchase a parking pass.
Are commuters able to stay overnight on campus?
Commuters may stay overnight as long as they are a signed in guest of a resident student. Resident students are allotted four 24-hour stays each month excluding the first week of school and exam weeks. Students must register at the Department of Campus Safety and must remain with the host (Dean resident student) at all times.
What meal plans are available for commuters?
There are four meal plans available for commuter students. The word ‘Meals’ equals one tap with your Dean College student I.D. at the Smith Dining Center located in the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center. Boomer's Bucks can be used at the Smith Dining Center, Boomer’s (Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center Atrium), or the Bulldog Beanery (Green Family Library Learning Commons). Please visit the Director of Dining Services to discuss meal plan options or add Boomer’s Bucks throughout the semester.
How do I know if the college is closed due to weather?
When appropriate a decision will be made by 6:00 am and posted to the student portal (Today@Dean), Dean College website (www.dean.edu) and Dean College weather line 508- 541- 1901. The college makes every attempt to hold classes when possible. As safety is a top priority and weather conditions can vary greatly depending on your location, it is imperative that you determine whether you can get to campus safely.
Are there any Commuter-Based organizations?
