What is a Resident Director?
A Resident Director (RD) is a full-time, trained, professional staff member dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging residential experience for our residents. Resident Directors oversee the operations of one or more residence halls, providing leadership for the community, supervising Resident Assistants (RAs), and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. From facilities requests to roommate mediations to creating meaningful connections with our residents – they are here to support you!
What is a Resident Assistant?
A Resident Assistant (RA) is a trained student leader who fosters a positive and inclusive living environment in college residence halls by building community, offering peer support, and promoting safety. RAs live in every residence hall on campus, and they are here for you! Through hosting events, mentoring residents, and responding to concerns, RAs serve as approachable role models and advocates for a respectful campus experience. This rewarding leadership role provides opportunities for personal growth while making a meaningful impact on the campus community.
Looking for your Resident Assistant? Check out your assigned residence halls – there is a staff poster in the lounge, or you can find the “RA” letters labeled on your RA’s room door.
